We hope everyone who attended the beautiful Advent Day of
Prayer and Brunch on December 3 enjoyed gathering in anticipation of
Christmas and were moved by the thoughtful reflection provided by Sr. Linda
Gibler, O.P. Thank you, Liturgy Committee and Hospitality, for all your
work organizing and hosting this annual tradition.

Angela House in 2001 to provide a safe place for women to live as they
transitioned from incarceration. Below is a link to a video about the
program in the voices of women whose lives were forever changed through the
love and support they received at Angela House. If you would like more

Integral
Ecology and the Holidays Over the holidays, the amount of wrapping paper thrown out
could circle the world NINE TIMES OVER! This season, consider wrapping
gifts in cloth bags (Furoshiki is the Japanese Art of Fabric Wrapping – click here to learn more), newspaper, or a roll
of recycled brown paper (which can be composted.) Skip the glittery ribbons
and bows and use natural trimmings like pine branches or rosemary sprigs.
We hope the remainder of Advent provides you with a few
moments to breathe and reflect on the beauty of the season and the coming
celebration of Christmas. We would also like to extend our wishes to our
Dominican Family members whose faith traditions include days of celebration
this month, including Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. May the ecumenicalism of our many
voices continue to amplify the needs of all peoples and our common world.
Peace, Mary
