Topic: Refugees
in Houston – Amaanah Refugee Services
Don't miss this chance to hear the personal experiences of refugee
services workers and a client who went through the refugee resettlement
process, as we continue our study and dialogue of Searching for Truth;
Nourishing Compassion.
Please bring
toiletries for Human Trafficking victims to this Gathering!
We are collecting supplies for the group United Against Human
Trafficking. UAHT is providing personal hygiene kits, blankets and human
trafficking resources information to victims, and those vulnerable to
reduce traffickers ability to exploit basic needs. Here is a list of
items needed:
- Large Freezer Zip Lock
Bags (will be used to hold hygiene items so bring travel size or
smallest regular bottles)
- Soap/Body wash
- Shampoo
- Deodorants
- Tooth Brushes
- First Aid Kits
- Toothpaste/Mouthwash
- Tampons, Pads
- Travel sized umbrellas
- Blankets

Informational Meeting
Have friends or colleagues who might be interested in learning about DF? There is still time to invite them to this meeting. We are open to
people of many faith traditions, races and walks of life. When thinking
of people to invite, remember to expand beyond who we currently are.
Following wine and snacks, the evening will include a short presentation
on Saint Dominic by Sr. Carol. She will also talk about the
formation of the Dominican Family and our mission of walking side-by-side
with the Dominican Sisters of Houston.
