Happy Summer to all you wonderful Dominican Family
members! Here are reminders of upcoming ways to live out our Charism
in addition to the everyday ministry that we do. Blessings and joy to
each of you.

LIGHTS FOR LIBERTY
VIGIL
This is a reminder about the Lights for Liberty vigil to end detention camps
including the inhumane conditions for migrant children and families. The
Dominican Sisters, along with Dominican Family, encourage participation in this
event, as we peacefully promote human rights and respect for the dignity of all
persons. Vigils are being held nationwide. All are encouraged to bring a
battery-operated candle, small flashlight or glowstics, to light at the end of
the vigil. This will be safer and more wind-proof than wax candles.
When: Friday, July 12, 7:45pm – 9:15pm
Where: 419 Emancipation Ave.
We will have a Dominican Family poster so that Family members can find a
familiar face in what we hope will be a large crowd. Here are the links to
the Lights for Liberty webpage and the local vigil webpage. Ideas for other ways
to make your voice heard can be found in this editorial. We also proudly and
prayerfully keep in mind our Dominican Family members and friends currently in
El Paso as part of the Border Awareness Experience mission trip, and who will
be participating in the El Paso vigil.
