Happy New Year, everyone!
I hope you all had a safe and restful
holiday season and are as glad as I am to leave 2021 behind us!
We do have one last challenge to get
by with this latest surge, so with God's blessing, I know we will all
make it through safely.
I wanted to let everyone know that we
are postponing our January
12th Dominican Family Gathering out of extreme
caution with the widespread outbreak. HOPEFULLY, we will pick it up
again with the February 7th meeting. As disappointing
as this is, the leadership team feels it is absolutely the right thing
to do.
We will keep you updated as to the
status of next month's meeting later this month, but for now, this is
the right thing to do.
HOWEVER! Keep the faith. You still have plenty of opportunities
to gather virtually as the Racial Justice, Poverty, and the new Liturgy
Committees continue to do their great work virtually. To get
involved with any or all of these groups, reach out to the contacts
below to get their latest schedule.
Racial Justice
Calista Hebert

Poverty
Shawna Callaghan

Liturgy
Anna Sklut

We will also be scheduling additional
opportunities for those that still need to recommit at future
gatherings, so keep an eye out for that as well.
Although we are delayed from meeting
in person one more time, that doesn't prevent us from impacting our
community. As Dominic once said,
"A man who governs his passions is master of the
world. We must either rule them or be ruled by them. It is better
to be the hammer than the anvil."
Let's continue to be the hammer as we
do God's work despite the challenges of today!
God Bless, and we will see you again
soon!
