The Racial Justice Committee has been
hard at work developing an engaging experience for our community to
examine racial justice mindfully. The format will be small group
engagement with four people to a table. Due to the nature of the
content and the activities involved, participation in this
gathering will not be available via Zoom.

Dominican Sisters of Houston – Call for Environmental
Justice On November 6, we will be
looking at the environmental inequities in Houston, including a
presentation by Ben Hirsh and Carolyn Rivera from West St. Recovery on environmental
inequity in Houston and its harmful impact on residents in Houston's
underserved neighborhoods. Sr. Ceil is still taking registrants. Please

Poverty Committee The Poverty Committee will meet on
Saturday, November 6 at 9:30 a.m. in the Conference Room at the

is a fun way to work side-by-side with other Dominican Family members
in creating a welcoming (and delicious) atmosphere for our Gatherings.
Chair, Lauren Wasielewski, is looking for volunteers for upcoming

Angela House – Pint Size Glass Jars Family members Sharon Copper and Abby
Linesh are asking for donations of pint-size glass jars with lids (pickle
jars, canning jars, etc.) for a holiday project they are working on
with the women at Angela House. If you are able to contribute, please
bring your jars with you to the November 8 Gathering. Information about
upcoming volunteer opportunities at Angela House will also be
available.
Advent Books Advent books will be distributed at
the November 8 Gathering. If you cannot attend, you will be contacted
on delivery/pick-up options for your book.
Advent Prayer Service and Recommitment Commitment At our Advent Prayer Service and
brunch in December, those unable to be with us at the Commitment and
Re-Commitment Liturgy in September will renew their commitment. Again,
it will be a special time to gather, pray and rejoice in our identity
