We hope everyone is beginning to enjoy
a much more normal summer now that we are well on our way back to
normal FINALLY!
A few things might interest you in the
coming weeks, and we wanted to share those with everyone.
Racial Justice Committee
The committee continues to meet
biweekly, discussing chapters from the book, So
You Want to Talk about Race by Ijeoma Oluo and sharing
our personal stories about racial justice awareness. The meetings
are very thought-provoking and educational.
Our next meeting is Tuesday, June 29,
1:30 pm. All are welcome. If you are interested in
attending, please contact Calista Herbert via email at calista@herber....
2021/22 Dominican Family Calendar
Our calendar for next year is just
about completed. Please check the DF website for all updates and lock
in these important dates so that we can FINALLY get back together
again. The Leadership team meeting schedule is being formulated
as well, so stay tuned!
The Metropolitan Organization (TMO)
TMO is hosting the Catholic Campaign
for Human Development. It is taking place this Friday, June 25,
and Saturday, June 26. A flyer with more information is included
below, and you can click here to
register.
The training focuses on developing
leaders to work for the common good and learning how to work on issues
important to our communities. It is an event that seems cut right
out of the Dominican pillars, and we encourage you to consider joining
the event.
News from the United States Conference of Catholic
Bishops (USCCB)
In their annual gathering June 16-18,
2021, the USCCB voted to continue work towards the draft of a document
on “Eucharistic coherence” that would effectively discourage political
leaders whose politics diverge from church teaching from receiving the
Eucharist. We encourage Family Members of all faith backgrounds to
study this issue and discern whether they might feel called to take
action with a response. For more information, consider the following

Part-Time Bookkeeper Needed
Sr. Carol wanted to share an
opportunity with everyone for a part-time position as a bookkeeper for
the Dominican Sisters Conference. Details are available here.
We hope everyone has a blessed and
safe summer. We’ll try and keep everyone informed of important events
if they come up over the next few months, and be respectful of not
“cluttering” up your inboxes!
Be safe, see you soon.
