of June, respond to the events of racial injustice in our country, and
recognize the painful reality that 100,000+ people have lost their
lives to COVID-19.

2. Recent events of racial injustice in the United
States are heartbreaking, frustrating, and in total contradiction to
Catholic Social Teaching. As Dominicans, we must educate ourselves and
preach with our lives. Consider the following resources:
3. Monday, June 1 has been named a National Day of
Mourning and Lament, as the United States has now surpassed 100,000
deaths due to COVID-19. Click here to watch a video and access resources
to participate in this day of mourning and lament. Let us also be
mindful that a disproportional number of these 100,000+ lives are
people of color, which compounds their pain and struggle.
