At this time, we are making the following changes:
- The
Dominican Family Gathering on April 6 is cancelled. As Holy Week
approaches, we will share materials for personal reflection.
- The
Commitment Ceremony scheduled for April 26 will most likely be
postponed to September, but we will provide additional information
at a later date, since current circumstances change rapidly.
- The
Dominican Formation Committee is working on alternative
arrangements for those in inquiry and formation.
- The
April 4 Angela House Book Club gathering is cancelled.
Although we are not meeting as a Family during this
time, each day presents countless opportunities to rise to our
Dominican calling as we approach the world. As always, through our
actions, we can reflect the Dominican charism and God’s love to the
larger community. We can choose to:
- Treat
others with patience and kindness, even in crowded stores with
emptying shelves.
- Be
cognizant of those whose income will be drastically affected by
this pandemic, such as hourly workers who can’t go to work,
vendors who no longer have customers,or workers who rely on tips
to make a living.
- Be
patient with each other, and ourselves, as we collectively
navigate through these unsettling and uncharted societal changes.
- Be
proactive in reaching out to others through phone calls, emails,
or texts so that people do not feel isolated.
- Reach
out to a neighbor that lives alone to make sure they are OK.
If you need anything, or if we, as a family, can support
you, please contact Lauri Ruiz, Anna Sklut, and Judi McCullough.
We
will keep you posted as we have further information. Joy and
blessings to each of you.
